The HallwayNarrow hallway with a faded red runner and a gallery wall
Halls get treated as leftover space, which is a waste — it is the room you walk through more than any other. This one gets a runner, a mirror at the far end to give the eye somewhere to land, and a gallery wall.
The gallery wall is all paper: postcards, a botanical print, a page from a 1960s auction catalog, two of my kid's drawings. Thin black frames, hung two inches apart, centered at 57 inches. Cheap, personal, and the only thing in the house guests comment on.
