The only room in the house with a color on the walls. A soft clay that goes almost pink at sunset and nearly brown at night, which is exactly what I want from a room I mostly see in low light.

Nothing sits on the nightstands except a book and a glass of water, because the lights are on the wall. Sconces at 60 inches, plug-in, cords sleeved and run down the wall. That single move freed up both surfaces.

The mirror leans opposite the window and reflects the yard back into the room. It is the largest object in here and the least expensive.

What changed

1Painted walls and trim the same clay color, flat finish, including the closet doors.
2Mounted plug-in sconces at 60 inches on either side of the bed.
3Leaned a 65-inch arched mirror opposite the window and anchored it to the studs.
4Left the walls otherwise bare. Still the hardest decision in the house.
